Every story reflects more than a period of service. It carries what came before, the years in uniform, the sacrifices made, and the life that continued beyond it.
The Heritage of Heroes is a faith based, veteran 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(2) non profit in Ellis County, Texas. We collect and preserve veterans’ stories from across Texas and the United States through written narratives and photographs, shared by veterans themselves or by family members and loved ones. This collection is built through community participation and is available to families, educators, students, and others seeking to learn, reflect, and honor service members across all generations.
The Heritage of Heroes collects and shares stories from veterans, civilian war survivors, and Gold Star families so they can be learned from and passed on. We also help connect veterans and their families with trusted resources and support within the community.
Each story shares an account of military service, contributed by veterans or by their families. Some stories capture a single memory or moment, while others offer more context and detail. Taken as a whole, our collection reflects the many ways these veterans served our country, across different roles, eras, and experiences.
